Canon EOS 400D, Here I Come!

Finally, I can cross that Canon EOS 400D digital SLR of my wishlist. Hard work and persistence finally pays eh? Also, a new iPod and a handphone might come soon.

Therefore, I present you the preliminary checklist for next week purchase;
Canon EOS 400D with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5 - 5.6 kit lens.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 prime lense.
2Gb San Disk Ultra 2 CF card.
Canon 7 slot bag.

Might add, a circular polarizer and UV filter upon purchase. Maybe even a +10 close up filter.

And that brings me to the next wishlist,
Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4 - 5.6 IS USM lense.
Canon 430EX SpeedLight Flash Gun.

Let's go shopping!

Transformers, What Now?

Rejoice as it has already been confirmed that Spielberg and Michael had struck a deal to release Transformers 2 for the summer of 2009. Wait, don't dance yet! It doesn't end there. We already know about the release on DVD, single and double DVD's on October 16th but did you know that the IMAX version will have an additional 2 minutes of footage not found on the DVD release? Fuck! I sound like a 'Did You Know?' caption!

Now here is the run through on the contents of the special 2 disc set release which I am so going to buy!

The TRANSFORMERS DVD is presented in widescreen enhanced for 16:9 televisions with Dolby Digital English 5.1 Surround, French 5.1 Surround and Spanish 5.1 Surround with English, French and Spanish subtitles. Total runtime is 143 minutes.

Disc 1:

  • Fight Giant Robots - An exploration of the military training that Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson underwent for their roles and the various stunts that the actors were asked to perform.
  • Battleground - A piece on the senior officials from the Department of Defense and Air Force who consulted on the film to give it authenticity and the key locations that the U.S. government provided access to.

Their War
  • Rise of the Robots - Explores the interaction between Hasbro designers and Michael Bay to bring the toy line roaring to life.
  • AUTOBOTS Roll Out - Michael Bay discusses working with Chevy and its designers and the modifications that were made to the cars seen in the film.
  • DECEPTICONS Strike - The film's military advisors discuss the "toys" they allowed the production to borrow: F-22 Raptors, Ospreys and A-10 Warthogs.
  • Inside the AllSpark - ILM's digital artists discuss the challenges of bringing the TRANSFORMERS to life.

More Than Meets The Eye
  • From Script to Sand: The SKORPONOK Desert Attack - An in-depth look at the making of this particularly epic and challenging scene from initial storyboarding through production and visual effects.

MIFC ~ Team Global

Anyone who went to the MIFC event in Putrajaya last Sunday, put your hands up!

Me and IK started out a few hours earlier in Putrajaya to do a little warm-up photography before the big event. Here are some of the pre-fireworks photos...

PICC

For people who have 30 bucks to spare, get the tickets to PICC. But to my point of view, it's not worth the admission price but I got the best view of all so I wouldn't gripe much!

Oh, and guess who me and IK was chilling with, T.V.Smith, CEO of www.mycen.com.my.

I, More Than Meets The Eyes!

How do you rate yourself as a Transformers fan? By going to the theaters twice of course. Which I did. Watch it over Imax theaters and bought the extended DVD when it was released. I even had the incentive to snatch "Transformers: The Ultimate Guide" off the shelves at Borders.

Now, would anyone like to contribute to my fund for a red semi?

The Wonderful World of Albert Khan

IK, I think you might appreciate this!

EDWARDIANS IN COLOUR: THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF ALBERT KAHN
The Archive of the Planet was the brainchild of the millionaire French banker and philanthropist Albert Kahn. Between 1908 and 1930, he used his vast personal fortune to generate what is now generally acknowledged to be the most important collection of early colour photographs in the world. At the time Kahn embarked on this project, colour photography was still in its infancy.
As an idealist and an internationalist, Kahn believed that he could use this system to promote peace and greater understanding among the world's cultures. So he spent a fortune to hire photographers and send them to more than 50 countries all over the world. Altogether, they shot more than 72,000 colour pictures (as well as about 100 hours of film footage) recording everything from religious rituals and cultural practices to momentous political events all over the world.

Stars On 45 - The Beatles Medley

I love the Beatles! Who doesn't? Probably the greatest and only boy band I listen too. Screw the Backstreet Boys! Screw Westlife! You suck! Anyway, I've never heard of Stars On 45 before until my dad told me of his Stars On 45 LP he had back in during the days. The collection of LP and vinyl he had are fenomenal! Back to Stars On 45, so I did a little research on wiki. Stars On 45 was a bloody big hit and you will find out why soon! First, you check out the wiki! Done? Play the video then!

I, Holga!

It seems that the lab had a malfunctioned lense that couldn't produce the required square format. Oh, it's about my first roll of 120mm film. But it's fine since I get a price cut and had a nice photography lesson from the owner of the lab. Places to go, people to meet and most importantly, directions to a professional photo lab located somewhere near Jalan Pudu. He even drew me a map. E-Six he says. Will check it out soon!
